Who at the convention authority is watching out for the taxpayers?
Why does it seem as if Jeff Gorman, Arthur Kane, Brian Joseph and Alexander Cohen of the Review-Journal’s investigate team are the only ones looking out for Las Vegas taxpayers (“Free Rides,” Aug. 27 Review-Journal)?
When there are so many critical areas toward which we could devote our tax dollars, these expenditures for Oscar Goodman’s transportation seem irresponsible and gratuitous. Unless Las Vegas has a monarchy in place to accommodate former officials at our expense, this is just another insult to add to the list of taxpayer abuses.
The wasteful spending exposed in the article is unnecessary and will likely continue if residents don’t demand more accountability.
