Sports Betting Spotlight: NFL Week 11

Matt Youmans, Kelly Stewart and Golden Nugget sports book director Tony Miller preview the college football and NFL weekend by offering 12 plays:

Matt Youmans, Review-Journal:

Last week: 1-3

Season: 29-11

  • Northwestern (+17.5) over NOTRE DAME
  • ARKANSAS (-2) over Louisiana State
  • PACKERS (-5.5) over Eagles
  • Best Bet: Mississippi State (+8.5) over ALABAMA

“Some of the wiseguys are laying points with the Crimson Tide, but I’ll take the No. 1-ranked team as a big ‘dog. Alabama was extremely lucky to escape against LSU and appears to be overrated by the oddsmakers. Dak Prescott is the better quarterback, and while Mississippi State ranks 90th in total defense, it ranks 16th in scoring defense at 19.7 points per game. Expect a close game.”

Kelly Stewart, @kellyinvegas:

Last week: 1-3

Season: 16-15-1

  • South Carolina (+7) over FLORIDA
  • Temple (+11) over PENN STATE
  • Missouri (+4.5) over TEXAS A&M
  • Best Bet: CHIEFS (-2) over Seahawks

“The Seahawks are rarely underdogs, and this week they are underdogs for a reason. I’m not going to bet against the hot team. The Chiefs are 7-1-1 ATS with four straight wins and covers.”

Tony Miller, Golden Nugget:

Last week: 2-2

Season: 20-20

  • Nebraska (+6.5) over WISCONSIN
  • Texas Christian-KANSAS over 58
  • Florida State (-2.5) over MIAMI
  • Best Bet: Patriots-COLTS over 58

“Cold weather won’t be a factor in this game. With two of the league’s best passers, Tom Brady and Andrew Luck, look for both teams to air it out. It’s a high total, but there’s no way this is not a high-scoring game.”
