Sports Betting Spotlight: NFL Week 6

Matt Youmans, Kelly Stewart and Golden Nugget sports book director Tony Miller preview the college football and NFL weekend by offering 12 plays:

Matt Youmans, Review-Journal:

Last week: 4-0

Season: 16-4

  1. NEW MEXICO (+4) over San Diego State
  2. UCLA (+2.5) over Oregon
  3. DOLPHINS (+3.5) over Packers
  4. Best Bet: SEAHAWKS (-8) over Cowboys

“This is a bad matchup for the Cowboys, who are thriving because of DeMarco Murray and the running attack. But the Seattle defense ranks No. 1 in the NFL against the run, allowing only 2.6 yards per carry and 62 yards per game. Murray won’t be able to control the clock, and Dallas’ defense finally will get exposed by Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.”

Kelly Stewart, @kellyinvegas:

Last week: 3-1

Season: 10-5-1

  1. ARKANSAS (+9) over Alabama
  2. MISSISSIPPI STATE (+3) over Auburn
  3. MISSOURI (+3) over Georgia
  4. Best Bet: RAMS (+3.5) over 49ers

“The 49ers are struggling to win close games, and they will struggle again Monday night. I like prime-time home ‘dogs. Rams quarterback Austin Davis is not great, obviously, but he has shown he can put points on the board.”

Tony Miller, Golden Nugget:

Last week: 2-2

Season: 10-10

  1. Oklahoma (-15) over Texas
  2. Louisiana State (-1.5) over FLORIDA
  3. Chargers (-7) over RAIDERS
  4. Best Bet: Broncos (-9.5) over JETS

“Jets coach Rex Ryan said he knows he’s gone if he doesn’t turn this season around, and that’s a bad sign. Geno Smith is a bad quarterback. Smith against Peyton Manning is a major mismatch.”
