Canseco’s reattached finger falls off during Vegas poker game

Former major league slugger Jose Canseco’s reattached finger fell off during a poker game in Las Vegas this week.

Canseco accidentally shot himself in the left hand while cleaning his handgun at home in Las Vegas on Oct. 28. He had surgery to have the finger reattached.

In a series of tweets Friday, Canseco announced that the finger fell off.

“Ok well I might as well tell you. I was playing in a poker tournament last night and my finger fell off. someone took a video of it,” he wrote.

Canseco, 50, made a name for himself as a slugger for the Oakland Athletics in the 1980s and ’90s. He later wrote a tell-all book detailing steroids use in baseball, including his own illegal use of performance-enhancing drugs during much of his career.
