Duncan still prime-time star for Spurs in NBA playoffs

Tim Duncan will turn 39 on Saturday, but the oldest player in the NBA playoffs is still turning in prime-time performances.

Duncan, San Antonio’s two-time Most Valuable Player, had 28 points and 11 rebounds in Wednesday’s 111-107 overtime win over the Los Angeles Clippers to help the defending NBA champion Spurs avoid their first-ever 0-2 playoff hole under three-time Coach of the Year Gregg Popovich.

The only NBA playoff series tied 1-1 after two games will shift to San Antonio for Game 3 at 6:30 p.m. today on ESPN (30) and Prime (50). Game 4 is set for 12:30 p.m. Sunday on ABC (13).

The weekend TV sports slate is packed with NBA and NHL playoff games, and there’s also plenty of baseball worth watching.

Former 51s pitcher Jacob deGrom (2-1, 0.93 ERA) will try to make it 12 straight today in the first game of a three-game Subway Series at Yankee Stadium, where the Mets have won four in a row. The Yankees (9-7) enter on a three-game winning streak.
