UFC 207 set for Las Vegas in December

A rare Friday night UFC pay-per-view event is coming to Las Vegas in December.

UFC 207 will take place at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 30, UFC officials announced during a news conference Friday afternoon at the MGM Grand.

The organization traditionally holds a major event in Las Vegas on the Saturday night closest to New Year’s weekend. With Dec. 31 falling on a Saturday this year, the event will be moved to Friday night to avoid conflicting with one of the biggest party nights of the year on The Strip.

The date was announced as part of the UFC’s unveiling of the schedule for the rest of 2016.

No bouts have been announced for the card.

Las Vegas will also host the finale card for Season 24 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” on Dec. 3. No venue has been finalized for the event, which will be headlined by the season champion challenging UFC flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson for the belt.

Top flyweight contenders Henry Cejudo and Joseph Benavidez, who are serving as coaches, will also fight on the card.
