INDIANAPOLIS — Former NFL quarterback and Fox analyst Mark Sanchez, who was scheduled to call the Raiders’ game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, has been arrested for his role in an incident that resulted in him being stabbed Saturday morning in Indianapolis.

“After further investigation and following consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, IMPD arrested 38-year-old Mark Sanchez for his alleged role in this incident,” the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement Saturday afternoon.

Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, all of which are misdemeanors. All involved parties have been identified, and no further individuals are being sought by detectives.”

Sanchez was in stable condition at a local hospital after being stabbed early Saturday.

Fox did not offer many details in a statement Saturday afternoon. There was no immediate word by the network whether Sanchez would be replaced on Sunday’s 10 a.m. PT broadcast and, if so, by whom.

“Mark Sanchez was injured in Indianapolis on Saturday and is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition. We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”

According to reports, police received a call around 12:30 a.m. Saturday for an incident involving two injured people, one of them Sanchez.

Sanchez, a former USC star who played eight seasons in the NFL, was rushed to a local hospital.
