Someone planted a tree on a high school baseball field — PHOTO

A high school baseball team in Ohio got quite the surprise last weekend … a tree planted on their field between the pitcher’s mound and home plate.

“Thanks to whoever put a tree on our baseball field,” Twitter user @MargerumEvan tweeted on Saturday.

Brian Bales, the athletic director at Franklin High School, told ESPN he was preparing for a doubleheader last weekend when the high school recreation supervisor called him and told him there was a tree planted on the field.

“I said, ‘What are you talking about? A tree?’ Someone planted a tree,” Bales told ESPN. “I got in my car, drove out there around 9 a.m., and yes, there was a 25-foot tree planted very nicely between the pitcher’s mound and home plate.”

The tree was removed and the grass was replanted just in time for the doubleheader, though.

It’s unknown who planted the tree on the field, but the school is investigating to find out who’s behind the prank, according to WLWT.
