Speed dating: Courtney Force out-qualifies boyfriend Graham Rahal

Courtney Force and Graham Rahal are auto racing’s newest, fastest couple on eight wheels.

They pretty much have overtaken Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse.

Force, an NHRA Funny Car driver; and Rahal, who drives in the IndyCar series; have been dating since October. Both are offspring of famous racing fathers. Courtney is the daughter of 16-time Funny Car champion John Force; Graham is the son of 1986 Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal.

Between them they have five victories. The lady has four, the gentleman has one.

Patrick and Stenhouse have been an item since the beginning of the 2013 NASCAR season. Both drive in the Cup series now. They have combined for one victory: Danica won an IndyCar race several years ago.

Stenhouse has eight wins in the Nationwide series but those don’t count, at least not in the Power Auto Racing Couple standings. Only wins at the top level of the sport count.

As far as the Force-Rahal pairing is concerned, Courtney is wearing the firesuit in this weekend’s qualifying.

She posted the fastest qualifying time for today’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Rahal struggled at the IndyCar season opener at St. Petersburg, Fla., (site of his only victory) and will start 21st, next to last.

Courtney recently posted a photo on her Twitter account of boyfriend Graham getting a pedicure.

Somewhere it can be assumed that A.J. Foyt is shaking his head in disbelief.
