Mountain West honors UNLV volleyball players Elsa Descamps, Bree Hammel

Sophomore middle blocker Elsa Descamps and senior right-side hitter Bree Hammel were tabbed Monday as the Mountain West’s Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
In three matches at the UNLV Invitational, Descamps averaged 3.20 kills per set with a .441 attack percentage. She had 32 kills over the three matches and was named to the all-tournament team.
Hammel was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after averaging 3.30 digs and 1.20 blocks per set in the 10 sets.
The Rebels return to action over the weekend with contests against Sacramento State, Hofstra and Cal State Northridge in the UNLV Challenge.
