UNLV roundup: Women’s soccer team blanks Colorado College

Sophomores Michaela Morris and Katie Ballou each had a goal and an assist to lead UNLV to a 3-0 victory over Colorado College in a Mountain West women’s soccer match Friday at Johann Memorial Field.
Sophie Cortes opened the scoring in the 17th minute with her conference-leading eighth goal of the season for the Rebels (10-2, 2-1), who improved to 6-0 at home with their second straight shutout.
Morris scored on a header in the 58th minute, and Ballou converted a penalty kick 2:08 later.
The Tigers (3-5-3, 0-2-1) were outshot 17-3, including 13-2 in the first half.
