Another player left UNLV when news broke Friday morning that Chris Obekpa was departing early for the NBA Draft.
ESPN reported the story, which Obekpa retweeted, therefore confirming the news himself.
He redshirted this season after transferring from St. John’s. Obekpa had one season of eligibility remaining, but the 6-foot 10-inch player had a good chance to be the Rebels’ starting center next season.
Since November, he is the eighth player to leave or be forced out. Six, including Obekpa, have left since the season ended.
