5 Air Force players to watch against UNLV Saturday

Five Air Force players to watch when UNLV visits the Falcons at 11 a.m. PDT Saturday:

1. Quarterback Arion Worthman, junior. Set the school record with 396 yards of total offense last Saturday at Navy, a mark that had stood for 47 years. For the season, he has passed for 653 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed for 389 yards and five TDs.

2. Running back Tim McVey, senior. Career 7.8 rushing average is the best all-time at Air Force. Has rushed for 324 yards (6.1 per carry) and five touchdowns this season.

3. Linebacker Grant Ross, senior. Falcons’ only returning defensive starter. Is second on the team with 35 tackles and first with 3.5 for loss.

4. Kicker Luke Strebel, senior. On the Lou Groza Award watch list. Has made 5 of 6 field goals, with a long of 50 yards. Also has converted all 19 extra points.

5. Wide receiver Ronald Cleveland, junior. Capable of the big play at any moment, averaging 12.7 yards on 11 rushes and 33.4 yards on five receptions. Has four combined touchdowns.
