5 players to watch in UNLV vs. Fresno State
Five players to watch when UNLV's football team plays at Fresno State at 7:30 p.m. Friday:
1. Kurt Palandech, QB, UNLV: He received the vote of confidence from his coaches to get this start. Now it's on him to get it done.
2. Kilton Anderson, QB, Fresno State: Despite struggling in his first start against Utah State on Saturday, he also received a vote of confidence from his coaches. Now he must justify their faith in him.
3. Devonte Boyd, WR, UNLV: He hasn't broken 100 yards since the season opener at Northern Illinois. Against a Fresno State defense that allows 233.5 yards passing per game, it's time for him to break out.
4. Marteze Waller, RB, Fresno State: A year after rushing for 1,368 yards and 11 touchdowns, he has been limited to 469 yards and a one TD so far this season. Waller averages 3.8 yards per carry, down from his 6.1 last season. Like Boyd, he's looking for a break-out game.
5. Tau Lotulelei, LB, UNLV: He made three tackles for loss against San Jose State, giving him a team-leading 6½ for the season. Lotulelei needs to continue that kind of play to keep the Bulldogs from generating any kind of offensive rhythm.
