Hauck in dispute with UNLV over compensation

Former UNLV football coach Bobby Hauck told an online site he is considering legal action regarding his compensation package.

Hauck, now the special teams coordinator at San Diego State, announced his resignation Nov. 28, which was to take effect after the home game against UNR the following day.

The dispute appears to be over additional money Hauck said was owed to him beyond the $400,000 buyout.

“We’re down to a point where, contractually, I was due 30 days of full salary and benefits, and we haven’t gotten that straightened out,” he told FootballScoop.com. “It looks like it’s going to the lawyers.”

UNLV athletic director Tina Kunzer-Murphy said Saturday she was advised by university counsel not to comment on the matter.

Hauck went 15-49 in five seasons at UNLV. He was replaced by Bishop Gorman High School coach Tony Sanchez.
