World Series of Poker: What to expect for Day 14

The day in the World Series of Poker.

Tuesday’s schedule:

11 a.m. — $3,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold ‘em (3-day event); $1,500 “Millionare Maker” No-Limit Hold ‘em (Final table)

Noon — $1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em (Final table); $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (Day 2); $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. (Final table)

2 p.m. — $10,000 Seven-card Razz Championship (Day 2)

3 p.m. — $1,500 Limit Hold ‘em (3-day event)

Players to watch:

* Garrett Greer is third in chips with 15 players remaining in the “Millionaire Maker” event. Greer, who has three “World Poker Tour” final tables in his career, suffered a broken neck in a swimming pool accident in 2010 and is paralyzed from the chest down.

* Phil Hellmuth got off to a strong start on Day One of the $10,000 Razz tournament. The defending champion and 14-time WSOP bracelet winner opens play Tuesday in second place with 45 players remaining.

Monday’s highlights:

* Brazilian soccer star Neymar earned a seat to the Main Event over the weekend by winning a 10-player, single-table satellite, WSOP officials confirmed. The FC Barcelona striker is set to represent his country at the Rio Olympics this summer and is not expected to play in the $10,000 buy-in No-limit Texas Hold ’em World Championship that starts July 9.

“One down, two to go.” — Jason Mercier, who captured his fourth career WSOP bracelet on Monday night and stands to win $1.8 million in a side bet with fellow professional poker player Vanessa Selbst if he can win three events this summer.
