9-year-old falls 25 feet from ski lift, survives — VIDEO
A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized after falling a terrifying 25-feet from a ski lift.
Video footage shot at Liberty Mountain Resort in Fairfield, Pa., shows the boy dangling in the air for a few seconds before losing his grip and falling into the snow.
The boy was riding the lift with his dad when the accident occurred, abc27.com reports.
“Our patrollers were already on the scene before the young boy fell out, so we were right there to take care of him,” General manager Eric Flynn told ABC 27.
The boy sustained a leg injury in the fall. The resort says it is unclear whether the boy had his safety bar down, but officials have determined the safety gear was in working order at the time of the accident.
