A very Friendly customer

Southern Nevada businessman Trent Keenan suspected in June 2008 that the economy would rebound, especially in construction. He opened Diamondback Land Surveying then, knowing he’d need specific equipment, including several trucks.

The 38-year-old, 27-year Las Vegas resident has bought 15 Ford F150 trucks in the past four years from Friendly Ford, 660 N. Decatur Blvd. Diamondback Land Surveying, based in Las Vegas, is now licensed in five states: Nevada, California, Utah, Arizona and Washington.

“Because of our logistical involvement, we put a lot of miles on our trucks,” Keenan said. “In fact, our 22-month-old truck is being traded into at Friendly Ford with 90,000 miles on it. Our big thing is that we want to purchase our equipment locally because we have good relationships with locally owned businesses like Friendly Ford.”

He said he’s impressed with the results he has had with Ford trucks in the past.

“Ford itself sells 60,000 trucks a month,” Keenan added.

“The newly designed trucks are about 700-800 pounds lighter. We know that we can’t beat a Ford truck. In addition, every one of our trucks has Ecoboost, which is the V-6 model which provides excellent power and even with a full load of survey equipment and supplies, we still get good gas mileage.”

Keenan’s father-in-law Allen Turkish, a local car business veteran, has been with Friendly Ford for five years and handles all transactions for Diamondback Land Surveying.

“Allen really knows his business,” Keenan said, “and he really knows trucks. When time comes to trading in a truck for another, we start exchanging text messages and he has always delivered for us.”

Keenan and his wife, Lisa, just bought a 2014 Ford Raptor, which has become renowned for its off-road packages including extensive suspension components.

“The cost wto replace the shocks is $9,000, so you know they’re top-notch,” Keenan said. “When speaking about the engine, the Raptor 6.2 liter (engine) has 411 horsepower. The Raptor is a showpiece, that’s for sure.”

Lisa Keenan drives the Raptor and loves it.

“The Raptor is my dream truck,” she said.

“I love driving it. From the time I was a little girl, I have always liked big trucks. The bigger the better and to have the ultimate Ford big truck is a dream come true.”

Turkish is another dedicated member of the Ford family.

“I came to Las Vegas in the Air Force from New York in 1972,” he said adding that he entered the car business in 1979. “If fact, I bought my first new car – a 1972 Ford Thunderbird – from Friendly Ford.

“Years later, I still never worry about selling Ford products to anyone and especially my own family.”
