Auto mall seeks entries for tree decorating contest

Valley Automall is feeling festive and embracing the holiday season with its 14th annual tree decorating contest. The event, which benefits Clark County high school students, takes place Dec. 1 at each of the Valley Automall's 19 dealership showrooms. The first-place team receives a $3,000 cash prize; second gets $2,000 and third takes home $1,000.

"Students continually amaze us with their imaginative and inspirational tree creations," said Valley Automall manager Valorie Staley. "This event has grown bigger each year, with more participants. But space is limited, so interested students should apply immediately."

The auto mall provides each team with a budget to purchase tree decorations at a store of its choice. Next, the team decorates a 10-foot-tall evergreen inside a specific dealer showroom. Local celebrities will judge the trees, awarding prizes to the winning schools.

Entries are now being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Valley
Automall will draw one team only from each school. Interested parties must apply by 5 p.m. Nov. 11.
