Best of Summerlin voting starts

Summerlin, Las Vegas’ largest master-planned community, a development of The Howard Hughes Corp., launched its 2014 Best of Summerlin recognition campaign Monday.

Through Oct. 31, community and valley residents can nominate their favorite Summerlin restaurants, parks and businesses for categories including Best Locally-Owned Restaurant, Best Community Event, Best Golf Course and Best School Spirit. There are 12 categories.

Nominees will be announced Nov. 3 followed by online voting through Nov. 21. Winners will be announced online Nov. 24. Nominations can be made atsummerlin.com. Anyone can submit nominations but all locations must be within the Summerlin borders for consideration.

“The Best of Summerlin is a great way to acknowledge and reward the locations and people who are actively enhancing the lifestyle promoted here in this master-planned community. We saw tremendous growth in the number of people who participated in last year’s competition and businesses took great pride in being named finalists and winners,” Summerlin marketing director Danielle Bisterfeldt said.

Join Summerlin on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates and to follow The Adventures of Summerlin Sam as the community’s jackrabbit mascot visits each finalist and features them on social media.
