Boy, 10, charged with animal cruelty in dog’s fatal beating

The 10-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, boy accused of beating his neighbor’s dog to death with a stick, has been charged with animal cruelty. He’s expected to turn himself in this week.

This is added on to the delinquent conduct and cruelty to a non-livestock animal charges filed in May.

Cookie’s owner, Jennifer Knittel, says she found her dog on a neighbor’s porch with his skull smashed and his spine severed.

“I want justice for my dog,” Knittel told NewsFix in May. “But this little boy needs help.”
