Say German food, and images of beautiful sausages and schnitzel come to mind. Find all of that and more are at Café Berlin, where the pork and chicken schnitzel is breaded, seasoned and served crisp and golden brown. Jaeger Schnitzel is topped with mushroom gravy and served with spaetzle, a flour-and-egg-based homemade pasta similar to noodles. Zigeuner Schnitzel is gypsy-style breaded pork in paprika gravy with fries, while Schweine Schnitzel is topped with a lemon and served with potato salad. Among the sausages are Bier with sautéed onions, Curry with the house curry-tomato sauce and Bockwurst, or white sausage, with pan-fried potatoes and red cabbage. Several sandwiches are the Bratwurst Burger, Nuernberger Bratwurst with sauerkraut and onions and Chicken Schnitzel on a crispy baguette with tomatoes, onions and cucumbers. Cordon Bleu vom Schwein are two pork cutlets filled with cooked ham and Swiss and served with cranberry and fries. Two vegetarian dishes are spaetzle with sautéed mushrooms and the house salad with sunflower seeds, tomatoes, red and green peppers, onions, egg and cucumbers. The apple strudel is a must for dessert. Lunch schnitzels begin at $10.99. Café Berlin is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
