Findlay Chevrolet will host annual Safety Fair

The management at Findlay Chevrolet believes that one of the most important components of the business is being community-oriented. They will demonstrate their commitment to this philosophy Saturday with the dealership’s annual Safety Fair.

The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the dealership, 6800 S. Torrey Pines Blvd.

Participants will include a Metropolitan Police Department Crime Prevention Unit and McGruff the Crime Dog, Clark County Safe Kids Coalition and a blood drive by United Blood Services.

The event will include free food, live music, children’s jumpers and a collection of classic cars. Also planned is a visit by Cosmo, mascot of the Las Vegas 51s and a live remote radio broadcast with KYCE-FM, 102.7.

“From the initial thought process to contacting and securing personalities and finally hosting the event is tedious, time-consuming and rewarding,” said Findlay Chevrolet Sales Manager Doug Fleming. “However, the end result is that an event such as this one proves to be a win-win event for everyone involved.”

The Safety Fair event is part of Findlay Chevrolet’s special events calendar that also includes Racing Appreciation Day, which is being moved to the spring in 2014; a bike rally in September; the Father’s Day Car Show each June; Frank’s Thanksgiving Car Show in November; and community block parties twice year.

“These shows would not be possible were it not for the participation that we receive from great partners like Raising Cane’s, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Collision Authority and Beasley Broadcasting in Las Vegas,” said Fleming, a native of Las Vegas who graduated from Valley High School and University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has been with Findlay Automotive Group since January 2001.
