Friendly Ford joins Paws for the Cause adoption event

Friendly Ford is teaming up again with The Animal Foundation for its Paws for the Cause fall pet adoption event. It will take place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the dealership on North Decatur Boulevard, just north of U.S. Highway 95.

This is the third year Friendly Ford has been involved with Paws for the Cause. The spring event coincided with the kickoff of the 2013 American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The Animal Foundation recently was named as winner of the challenge, taking home the $100,000 grand prize in grant funding.

The organization saw an increase of 1,055 animals’ lives saved over the same period in 2012.

Twenty-eight animals featured at the kickoff at the dealership in June found new homes.

“The Animal Foundation would like to thank Friendly Ford for kicking off the 100K Rachel Ray Challenge,” said Andy Bischell, director of development at the foundation. “We thank you for your support and the $100,000 will go along way in helping these animals.”

“This 100K Challenge was a big goal. Friendly Ford is happy to be a part of the success of The Animal Foundation and to help them get the funding that they need and deserve,” said Jason Davis, Friendly Ford’s general manager. “It’s tremendously satisfying to see these animals find new homes with people who truly want and love them.”

More than 50 dogs and cats will be available for adoption Saturday, and everyone who adopts during the event will receive a free mini studio portrait session and one print portrait (a $128 value) from Pet’ographique. Gift bags, filled with leashes, bowls, rope chew toys and more will be given away with every pet adoption.

Citizen Protection Dog Training and Rescue will do on-leash obedience demonstrations and MP K9 All Breed Dog Training will provide a free initial training session at Friendly Ford and will offer 25 percent discount coupons to anyone who adopts a pet that day.

Additionally, Dr. Sam Lynch of Desert Inn Animal Hospital, whose staff members are longtime supporters of Paws for the Cause, will be on hand to provide free pet microchipping, courtesy of Friendly Ford.

In addition to being microchipped, all adoptive dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date vaccinations.

Friendly Ford is at 660 N. Decatur Blvd. For additional information, call 702-870-7221 or visit www.friendlyfordlv.com.
