Henderson Hyundai Superstore has again joined with the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve and Toys for Tots in the annual mission to ensure Southern Nevada’s underprivileged children receive a toy this holiday season.
The family-owned and operated car dealership is accepting new, unwrapped toy donations for children of all ages through Dec. 15.
“Last year we collected five times the amount of any previous year,” Henderson Hyundai Superstore owner Frank Maione said. “We want to make sure that every child in Southern Nevada gets a toy this holiday season, and want to work toward breaking our own record.”
According to Toysfortots.org, the United States Marine Corps Reserve created the Toys for Tots program decades ago to make sure every child could have a toy for Christmas. Once collected, the toys go to several places including to families who sign up for the Toys for Tots program, church groups, and children who don’t get picked off the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
“Henderson Hyundai is always looking for way to give back,” Maione said. “What better way to do that than to give the kids in our community some hope for a better future and the knowledge that someone is looking out for them.”
People who would like to donate to Toys for Tots should do so in person at Henderson Hyundai Superstore, 460 N. Boulder Highway. The dealership is open for sales and toy drop-offs from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Parts and service are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
