Hundreds of teens do $70k in damage at wild mansion party

More than 1,000 teens partied at an Ontario, Canada, mansion over the weekend, ultimately doing more than $70,000 in damage.

The Saturday night party, which was promoted on social media using the hashtag #mansionparty, took place in a 17-year-old’s parents’ unfinished home.

Between 1,500 and 2,000 teens packed into the 5,000-square-foot mansion, according to the CBC, crowding into rooms and piling onto staircases for photo ops before police arrived to break up the party.

By that time, there were at least 200 cars lined up down the street as partygoers posed with cop cars. Police made several arrests after multiple officers were assaulted, according to CNN.

One neighbor said the street is back to normal, but the house looks “completely trashed — broken windows, stair railings are broken.”

Police said they are talking to neighbors about possible property damage as part of the ongoing investigation, but it’s unclear whether the homeowner or her son will face charges.
