Man set fire at LDS church because he ‘hates churches’

Police say an 18-year-old Utah man set fire to the kitchen of a church because he said he “hates churches.”

Logan, Utah resident Antonio Justin Rosa called 911 on Monday to report a fire he allegedly started in the kitchen of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen said Rosa had broken in through a window.

“He admitted to starting the fire because he hates churches,” Jensen said.

The fire was contained to the kitchen, KSL reported.

Rosa was charged with aggravated arson and burglary, both felonies.
