Nevada, you are one stressed out state. According to a study done by a Movoto economist, Nevada ranks fifth on a list of the country’s most stressed out states. The rankings were determined by the following criteria: percentage of long commuters, unemployment, population density, hours worked, percentage of population without insurance and percentage of income spent on housing.
The data was collected by the U.S. Census’ American Community Survey. The higher the numbers, the higher the stress.
“Nevada owns the second highest unemployment rate in the country of 11.8 percent, which is only trumped by Michigan’s 12.5 percent. That leaves a lot of time to take in the scenes and the slots in Vegas,” Movoto reports.
Here’s the top 10 most stressed out states, from most to least.
1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. New Jersey
4. California
5. Nevada
6. Illinois
7. New York
8. Maryland
9. North Carolina
