Off-duty cop saves driver from fiery crash

An off-duty cop put himself in harm’s way on Tuesday to save a driver from a fiery crash.

According to PIX11, John Vescio, a New York State Police senior investigator, was fueling his vehicle when another driver slammed into the pump he was at and it caught fire.

Vescio immediately jumped into action and pulled the 69-year-old unconscious driver from the vehicle and dragged him away before the pump exploded, saving his life.

The unidentified driver, who had a diabetic emergency at the time of the crash, sustained only minor injuries. According to WPVI, Vescio was treated for minor burns.
