Park Place Infiniti sales manager has 50 years experience

Steve Giger, the sales manager at Park Place Infiniti, looks too young to have more than 50 years of experience in the industry.

Then again, he started pretty young.

Giger, 62, was raised in the family business — a car dealership his father ran in St. Louis, Mo. He was washing cars for the showroom floor by age 10.

“I was born and bred a car guy,” Giger said from the Infiniti dealership on West Sahara Avenue. “Made my first sale at 15. I remember all the sales people were busy when this couple came up and started asking me questions. That day, I learned about the paperwork and financing. The car cost $1,799.”

He followed his passion all the way to Las Vegas, when at age 19 he started racing motorcycles and went to work for his racing sponsor. He put himself through business school and ultimately went on to own his own used car lot in Cedar City, Utah.

“A lot of sales guys don’t like to deal with used cars,” Giger said. “But for me, there’s nothing better. I like everything to look pristine, to the point where if you looked under the spare tire you couldn’t find a spec of dust. I want to wow the client.”

Giger brought his devotion to excellence to Park Place Infiniti about a year ago because he wanted to work somewhere that shared his philosophy of giving sales consultants the power to do whatever it takes to make a client happy.

Park Place Infiniti General Manager Joe Tortomasi said the dealership prides itself in employing “experts in excellence,” and strives to give clients an experience that can’t be matched anywhere else.

“Steve is that shining example,” Tortomasi said. “He knows cars and he knows people. Most of all, he is willing to go that extra mile.”

Giger said Park Place Infiniti’s certified program and “value pricing” approach helps take the stress and anxiety out of shopping for pre-owned cars.

“With value pricing, there’s no haggling,” he said. “Prices are clearly marked, there’s no stress of the back and forth. It’s as easy as picking out a shirt that fits just right.”

Founded in 1987 by Ken Schnitzer, Park Place Dealerships represents luxury brands including Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volvo, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, McLaren, Maserati, Lotus and smart. In June 2012, Park Place purchased the Infiniti dealership in Las Vegas. For more information, visit www.parkplaceinfiniti.com.
