Planet Hyundai Sahara fills bill for family’s new vehicle needs

Prisca Clipper fell in love with a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe that she purchased from Planet Hyundai Sahara about a month ago.

On the same day, her husband, Preston, bought a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, and their son Rusty Santiago purchased a 2013 Veloster.

One day later, daughter Kendrell Santiago completed the buying frenzy when she purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT — also from the same dealership at 7150 W. Sahara Ave.

The vehicle color of choice for all four family members? Black.

The family owns Sin City Referees, and their hectic schedules dictated that each member have a reliable vehicle.

“I had already planned to purchase another car from another dealership,” Prisca Clipper said. “However, my husband talked me into going to Planet Hyundai.”

A FedEx courier, Preston Clipper was familiar with Planet Hyundai Sahara since he makes deliveries to the dealership twice a day.

“I love my car,” Prisca Clipper said. “It handles very well and it has all the bells and whistles I could hope for.”

Daughter Kendrell Santiago’s purchase was her first new car.

“I was really ecstatic with my purchase,” she said. “I had a 2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport that I traded in, and driving off the lot with a new vehicle was awesome. The Elantra GT has a very impressive audio package along with chrome rims. It also has great power straight off the pedal.”

“We’re a very complete family now,” Preston Clipper added. “We all have new Hyundai’s and they’re all the same color. It’s one of those things that we’ll never forget.”

Rusty Santiago, who bought the Veloster, said, “I just traded in my old Honda Civic and wanted a reliable car that offered great fuel efficiency which I could drive daily. There are no issues anymore and I now have great peace of mind.

“I no longer have to push-start my car like I had to do with my old Civic,” he said.

The purchases marked the first time the same family purchased four new vehicles within a week, according to new-car sales manager Carlos Hidalgo.

“We see Preston so much, and during one visit he told me that his wife was ready to purchase an SUV,” Hidalgo said. “One car deal turned into four. I have been in the car business for 18 years, and this is the first time I have seen an entire family purchase four new cars.

“I have seen three cars sold to the same family before, but not four. What a great experience.”

Veteran sales consultant Brian Williams sold all of the vehicles to the Clipper family.

Each new Hyundai comes with a 10-year, 100,000 mile power-train warranty along with a five-year, 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
