Sling shot ride cable snaps just before take-off — VIDEO

It was an insanely close call for these would-be adrenaline junkies at a Wisconsin amusement park.

According to WKOW, a 13-year-old boy and a woman from Minnesota were waiting to be launched in the sling shot ride at the Mt. Olympus Water Park and Theme Park Resort.

As the giant cables are pulled, the tension causes the right-side cables to snap and smash to the ground, only inches away from the boy.

The passengers appeared uninjured.

Resort officials allowed the ride to continue operating afterwards, but closed the ride permanently after the video was released on social media.

Records showed that the ride passed an inspection on June 17, but also cited violations from 2006, 2011 and 2013.
