Family Halloween Movie Marathon planned at Sunrise Library
A screening of three family-friendly Halloween movies is scheduled from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. The marathon begins with the animated films “Monster House” and “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” and wraps up with the live-action film “Hocus Pocus” starring Bette Midler.

Library Facebook Contest planned
The Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave., plans to host a Teen Read Week Facebook Contest through Saturday . Teens are invited to log on to facebook.com/whitneylibrary and post the title of their favorite book on the wall of Whitney Library’s Facebook page.

Teens can test zombie-survival skills during event at Whitney Library
Zombie Survival 101 is scheduled from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.
Teens can compete in challenges to see if they have what it takes to survive a zombie attack.

to attend Spooky spiderfest
A Spooky Spiderfest is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Parkdale Community Center, 3200 Ferndale St. Preschoolers accompanied by an adult are invited to participate in games, treats and themed activities.

Wetlands park to host Guided hike
A Wetlands Park Weekend Walk event is scheduled from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Clark County Wetlands Park, 7050 Wetlands Park Lane. The program is designed for parents and their elementary schoolchildren but is open to all.
