Family Halloween Movie Marathon planned at Sunrise Library

A screening of three family-friendly Halloween movies is scheduled from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. The marathon begins with the animated films "Monster House" and "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and wraps up with the live-action film "Hocus Pocus" starring Bette Midler.

Library Facebook Contest planned

The Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave., plans to host a Teen Read Week Facebook Contest through Saturday . Teens are invited to log on to facebook.com/whitneylibrary and post the title of their favorite book on the wall of Whitney Library's Facebook page.

Teens can test zombie-survival skills during event at Whitney Library

Zombie Survival 101 is scheduled from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

Teens can compete in challenges to see if they have what it takes to survive a zombie attack.

to attend Spooky spiderfest

A Spooky Spiderfest is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Parkdale Community Center, 3200 Ferndale St. Preschoolers accompanied by an adult are invited to participate in games, treats and themed activities.

Registration for this free event is required by Oct. 24.

Halloween event set for Oct. 25

Candy, Cars & Corridors, a Halloween-themed event, is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Paradise Recreation Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive. Children 3 to 12 accompanied by an adult are invited to participate in games, treats and themed activities. Registration is required for this free event.

Wetlands park to host Guided hike

A Wetlands Park Weekend Walk event is scheduled from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Clark County Wetlands Park, 7050 Wetlands Park Lane. The program is designed for parents and their elementary schoolchildren but is open to all.

The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive.

The Winchester Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.

The Whitney Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave.

The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.
