Teacher who crashed on way to school suspected of drunken driving

Sacramento, CA — An elementary school teacher allegedly had three-times the legal blood-alcohol content when she crashed on her way to work Thursday morning, investigators said.

Officers say Patricia Robertson, a third-grade teacher at Earl Warren Elementary School, clipped a car and started spinning out of control near Vintage Drive and Waterman Road.

Her car hit a car parked in a driveway, which sent the parked car into a home.

Investigators say Robertson kept driving, and her car hit another parked car in a second driveway, sending that second car into its house.

“I opened up the door, and asked if she was O.K., and she just said she needed to call her school. She was a school teacher and needed to call her school,” neighbor Patrick Nance said.

Robertson has been a teacher at Earl Warren for the last five years, and worked in the Sacramento City Unified School District for nearly 30 years.

“Obviously, we’re concerned,” district spokesperson Gabe Ross said. “It’s unacceptable behavior.”

Robertson was booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence. Meanwhile, the district has not said what action will be taken against her.

No one was hurt in the crash.
