Teen dragged to death after argument with driver

PALMETTO, Fla. — A 20-year-old man is charged with vehicular homicide following the dragging death of a teenager during an argument in Palmetto.

The Bradenton Herald reports 18-year-old Kyle O’Halloran was outside his home Thursday afternoon when a Lincoln Town Car drove up.

Palmetto police say the teen approached the car and had some kind of altercation with the passengers. As the vehicle started to drive away, O’Halloran grabbed onto it. Witnesses told police he fell off the vehicle about a block away.

Roberto Betancourt faces multiple charges and is being held in jail. It’s not clear whether he has an attorney.

O’Halloran was a football player at Palmetto High School.

Police did not say what caused the argument.
