Women sucked into wormhole, lives to brag about it — VIDEO

Getting sucked into a wormhole might be cool if you’re Matthew McConaughey’s character in “Interstellar,” but if you’re an economics student on a sight-seeing trip it probably isn’t tops on your bucket list.

21-year-old Apu Gupta was standing above, checking out what’s called “The Wormhole” — a natural rectangular-shaped pool at the Aran Islands in Ireland that looks like it’s straight out of that fantastic 90’s sci-fi flick starring Kurt Russell, “Stargate” — when a giant wave crashes into her, throwing her 40 feet below.

“I tried to run, but it pushed me straight down. It was like being in a waterfall and that probably cushioned the fall,” Gupta told the Irish Times. “I was so scared because I thought the wave was going to come again. My ankle was completely smashed and the pain was bad.”

Which makes sense, since Gupta broke her ankle in the fall.

A couple that was also visiting The Wormhole witnessed Gupta being swept away and ran to help her. Using a backpack and an army jacket, the two were able make a makeshift rope and pull Gupta to safety before a rescue helicopter arrived.

McGyver would be so proud.
