Chapman helps youth soccer club

Chapman Automotive continued its history of supporting local youth and community events Oct. 25-27, during the 14th annual city of Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup International Showcase. More than 5,000 youth from regions throughout the world, including Mexico, Brazil, Canada and the United States, competed in the soccer competition.

Chapman Automotive has entered a two-year partnership with the Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club, an agreement that includes marketing, branded apparel and soccer balls, event collateral and a photo booth.

“We’re always excited to provide a fun and unique element to these events supporting our local youth and organizations they’re a part of,” Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram General Manager Don Hamrick said. “The Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club does great things for our community and we’re looking forward to an ongoing partnership as we look to future tournaments.”

Gary Brewer, general manager of Chapman Chrysler Jeep in the Valley Automall. “Teams from Henderson and far beyond are welcomed here and it’s a merited opportunity for Chapman to provide our support at a local level.”

In a tournament at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, 346 youth soccer teams from 11 U.S. states competed. The tournament brings an estimated $10 million into the local economy, Brewer said.

During the tournament, guests could enter to win an all-expense paid trip provided by Chapman Automotive to see the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. To win, patrons had to guess the number of soccer balls crammed inside the Chapman-provided Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango displayed onsite.

“We started this about seven years ago in a joint venture with the city of Las Vegas,” said Gary Soresman, executive director of the Las Vegas Downtown Soccer Club. “With community supporters like Chapman Automotive, we’ve been able to expand our resources immensely, which allows for more youth to participate in our club. With 600 players, we’re very thankful for our community support.”

Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club is a nonprofit organization providing youths with a professional year-around program led by a nationally recognized coaching staff. For more information, visit www.downtownlvsc.com or call 702-258-0279.
