Fifth Street Gaming will take over Lady Luck redevelopment
May 24, 2011 - 3:13 pm
The owners of the Lady Luck will turn redevelopment of the long-shuttered downtown hotel and management of the casino over to Fifth Street Gaming.
Andrew Donner, who bought the hotel in 2005 and later closed it, holds the gaming licence. He sold a majority interest to CIM Group in 2007 and has been trying since then to put together a renovation and reopening of the Lady Luck.
He has said he will now concentrate on finishing the deal to bring the headquarters of the Amazon.com subsidiary Zappos to City Hall next year. He will also try to progress on a plan to build a 100,000-square-foot retail and entertainment center adjacent to the now-under-construction Mob Museum.
Fifth Street Gaming, headed by Seth Schorr and Jeffrey Fine, own and operate four other properties in the valley, including the Silver Nugget and the Lucky Club.
