Meadows Corp., Rutherford Investment Management separate after 5 months

Meadows Corp. has severed ties with Rutherford Investment Management, a Portland, Ore.-based registered investment adviser firm, five months after announcing the companies would merge.

Meadows completed the deal in November to acquire Rutherford Investment Management, as well as Landmark Global Advisors. The company still owns Landmark Global Advisors in Las Vegas.

“Our goal is to create opportunity on both sides of a transaction,” Meadows President Peter Kingman said. “In (this) case, Bill Rutherford decided to resume a more active role in overall operations. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Meadows is a holding company providing succession and joint venture operations to registered investment adviser firms. Kingman said his firm is interested in the “acquisition of investment advisory firms seeking to transition their ownership.”

The company is affiliated with Nevada Trust Co. of Las Vegas to supply research and compliance services.

Financial terms of the separation were not disclosed.
