Man on FBI’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list may be in Las Vegas

A man named on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list may have traveled to Las Vegas, according to the FBI’s Los Angeles Fugitives Task Force.

Philip Patrick Policarpio, 39, is wanted for the April 12 murder of his pregnant girlfriend in Los Angeles.

At a gathering of friends and associates, Policarpio got into an argument with his girlfriend, who was 17 weeks pregnant, “in front of everyone,” Special Agent Scott Garriola, a member of the task force, said in a release on the FBI’s website, www.fbi.gov.

He began to beat her with his fists, then pulled a gun and shot her in the head, killing her instantly, according to the FBI.

Policarpio, who was on parole at the time of the shooting, is a known drug user and may have traveled to Las Vegas or the Philippines, where he has family ties, Garriola said.

“His pattern is one of violence,” Garriola said, “and he is always armed. He is the definition of a continuing threat to the community.”

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading directly to Policarpo’s arrest. The agency notes that Policarpo should be considered armed and dangerous. Policarpo is described as having brown eyes and black hair (although the FBI noted he may have shaved his head), wearing eyeglasses, standing 5-foot-8, and weighing about 150-165 pounds.
