Nevada inmate dies at Las Vegas hospital

A Nevada Department of Corrections inmate died Wednesday night at a Las Vegas hospital.
Inmate Nicholas Petroff, 44, died about 11 p.m. at Spring Valley Hospital, NDOC public information officer Brooke Keast said in a release.
Petroff had been housed at Casa Grande Transitional Housing facility in Las Vegas, Keast said. He was committed from Churchill County on March 13, 2014, and was serving 19-48 months for fraudulent use of a credit card.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office responded, and an autopsy is being scheduled. Next of kin have been notified.
