See Silverton’s Santa soak

You can take your kids to see Everyday Santa. He's a good elf. But if you're looking for something extra Vegas-y, the Silverton hosts Santa in his other superhuman form -- Underwater Santa!

Underwater Santa -- decked out in traditional red but sporting a rakish scuba mask -- will hang out in the resort's 117,000-gallon aquarium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, plus Dec. 18 and 19.

Outside the tank, an elf (no relation) uses a Super Santa microphone to relay children's wishes. For reasons of aesthetics, a little drummer boy will chill in the tank, as well.

And just to make sure everyone knows the Silverton is home of the crazy this holiday season: At 8 tonight, the resort hosts Spike TV's "Half Pint Brawlers: Extreme Wrestling," featuring "Puppet the Psycho Dwarf" ($20-$35).

MIRANDA HEARTS DOGS, BACARDI

The National Finals Rodeo wraps up at the Thomas & Mack Center today and Saturday. The rodeo's existence brings much country music to Vegas.

Tonight, country star Miranda Lambert sings at the Palms. I asked Lambert to name her five favorite things in the world:

n "Music: love all music including but not limited to Merle Haggard anything."

n "Dogs: all kinds but especially mine. Delilah, Delta Dawn, Cher are all good to come on the road with me because they are my smaller dogs and easier to travel with."

n "Drinking Bacardi: currently drinking it with water and Crystal Light; it tastes excellent."

n "Being on stage: performing and trying out new songs or playing old favorites to new fans."

n "My pink Gibson guitar: love playing that guitar, it was custom made for me by Gibson."
