See stars at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art

Famous faces are nothing new in Las Vegas.

But they don't make faces like this anymore.

Bogart. Bardot. Audrey Hepburn and Muhammad Ali. Princess Grace. Queen Elizabeth II. And the King of Hollywood, Clark Gable.

Portraits of these and other 20th century legends will gather at Bellagio's Gallery of Fine Art, starting March 18, for "Yousuf Karsh: Icons of the 20th Century."

Organized in partnership with Boston's Museum of Fine Arts (a frequent Bellagio Gallery collaborator), the exhibit features 60 portraits of notables from show business and the arts, sports and politics.

The Bellagio gallery's first photo exhibit in more than a decade "will offer visitors to get up close and personal with some of the world's most famous figures," according to Executive Director Tarissa Tiberti, who noted that "Karsh had his own distinct style that reached beyond the subject's face."

The Karsh exhibit also will reach beyond each subject's image; gallery audio tours will give guests additional insight into each portrait.

"Yousuf Karsh: Icons of the 20th Century" will run from March 18 through Sept. 5 at Bellagio's Gallery of Fine Arts; the current "Picasso: Creatures and Creativity" ends Sunday. (For more information, call 702-693-7871 or visit Bellagio.com/bgfa.)

Although the gallery's Picasso show is closing, Picasso himself will be back — as one of the "Icons of the 20th Century" featured in the upcoming exhibit.
