Here comes Santa Elvis, here comes Santa Elvis, right down Fremont Street …

Who says Vegas isn’t a Christmas town? Not anyone down on Fremont Street, awaiting the arrival of Santa Elvis with a cup of Christmas cheer — in a 2-foot green plastic hurricane glass.

Yes, it’s time for the annual downtown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. today at the 3rd Street Stage of the Fremont Street Experience.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman will help light Las Vegas’ official 50-foot Christmas tree. And no, we didn’t make up the Santa Elvis part. The press release didn’t elaborate, but you have to believe in him.
