Ask Heidi Anything: I want French fries

As I have mentioned, I have my own personal food consultant here in Vegas. It’s Heidi Knapp Rinella, our RJ critic. Today, she gives me French fries advice.

Here’s our email exchange.

Hi Heidi,

If it were up to me, every day would be French fries day. But I’ve become kind of snobby about French fries. I can’t just do fast food, anymore. I crave fancy ones with truffle stuff on them, and stuff like that, because Vegas restaurants have spoiled me to no end. I especially love a good French fry dip, even if it’s just a mayonnaise base.

Anyway, what are your suggestions?

Says Heidi:

Al’s Beef has really good, really gloppy fries with all kinds of stuff on them. The Loaded Fries have cheddar cheese sauce, bacon, scallions and sour cream. The Bleu Cheese Fries have crumbled Gorgonzola and chunky blue cheese dressing. They have nacho fries, bbq fries, buffalo blue fries and chili cheddar fries.

They’re good fries and they come in two sizes, and they put on plenty of toppings.

And if you have a favorite place for fries, let me know in the comments section. Thanks, y’all.
