Air Force Airman Brian M. Millner graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Millner is the son of Amber K. Moreno of Las Vegas and Randy B. Millner of Mountain Top, Pa.

Air Force Airman Anastasia D. Crittenden graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Crittenden is the daughter of Karen and Michael Crittenden of Henderson and granddaughter of Julie and Donald Temple of Phoenix. She is a 2011 graduate of Southeast Career and Technical Academy.

Chasey Danser, 15, of Shadow Ridge High School and daughter of Fred and Heather Danser of Las Vegas, and Erika Orr, 16, of Northwest Career and Technical High School and daughter of Brad and Becky Orr of Las Vegas, were accepted to the College of Southern Nevada High School. They begin in the fall and plan to take high school and college classes.

Air Force Airman Austin B. McGinnis graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. McGinnis is the son of Lisa McGuire and Steve McGinnis of Las Vegas. He is a 2012 graduate of Bonanza High School.

Air Force Airman Jacob W. Carpenter graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Carpenter is the son of Carlin Carpenter of Pahrump and Wesley Carpenter of North Las Vegas.

Air Force Airman Christopher C. Garcia graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Garcia earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is a 2009 graduate of Arbor View High School.

Air Force Airman Tyler C. Turoczy graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Turoczy is the son of Jessica R. Turoczy and Rusty A. Schaeffer of Henderson. He is a 2013 graduate of Foothill High School.

Air Force Airman Dennia Valdez graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Valdez is a 2010 graduate of Liberty High School.

The following area students were among 1,594 named to Southern California’s Biola University’s fall 2013 Dean’s List: Samuel Alex, Andrew Badillo and Heather Bosheth, all of Henderson; Darian Johnson, Lucas Lee and Tessa McQuillan, all of Las Vegas; and Dominee Roehm of North Las Vegas.

Air Force Airman Alexis E. Kogel graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Kogel is the daughter of Beatrez E. Rios of San Antonio and Kim E. Kogel of Henderson. She is a 2013 graduate of Basic High School.

Air Force Reserve Airman Bradley S. Peterson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Peterson is the son of Bradley Peterson and grandson of Madge Peterson, both of Las Vegas. He is a 2011 graduate of East Career and Technical Academy.

Canyon Springs High School graduate Ivon Padilla-Rodriguez is one of about 60 people nationwide to receive a $30,000 Harry S. Truman Scholarship for college juniors with leadership skills and an interest in public sector work. Padilla-Rodriguez graduated from high school in 2011 as a valedictorian.

Erik Ringler, a sophomore engineering student at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colo., was elected president of his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, in November. Ringler is the son of John and Jennifer Ringler of Henderson and is a 2012 graduate of Foothill High School.

After being baptized at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Jan. 18, 1998, and her eight continuous years of extended study, faithful attendance at Mass and celebrating the Eucharist, Genevieve Jayne Godino stood for her confirmation at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on April 26.

Brett Neighbors of Las Vegas was named to the winter 2014 honor roll at Spokane Falls Community College in Washington state.

The following local students were among the 42 seniors who received the Gold Axe Award for their achievements at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz.: Brittany Moles of Henderson and Kevin Wright of Las Vegas. Additionally, Wright was among five seniors selected for the President’s Prize for their leadership, academic excellence and service to the NAU community.
