NASA jet has quick mid-air pit stop — VIDEO

It’s just like your normal stop at the gas station, with the one little difference of flying high up in the sky.

The clip from Youtube channel Sploid shows the whole process starting with the jet’s main approach to the refueling plane. Then the tube that transfers the gas, known as a “flying boom” lowers itself and begins to pump fuel into its little leech.

It’s fascinating to watch, considering this is all happening at high speeds, hundreds of feet off the ground.

The jet being refueled is a F-15D flown by NASA pilot Jim Less. The video description explains that the F-15 planes are used by NASA for research missions and routine training to their pilots.
