A man died Saturday night after crashing into a light pole and a hydrant in the central valley, Las Vegas police said.
Officers responded to reports of the crash about 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Saylor Way, near Jones Boulevard, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Peter Kisfalvi said.
The 43-year-old man died after being taken to a hospital. Kisfalvi said the crash might have been the result of a medical issue.
Metro’s fatal traffic unit investigated the crash, but will wait for the Clark County coroner’s office to determine the man’s cause of death before his death is counted as a traffic fatality.
