Big B
Las Vegas-bred rapper Big B — who has a new live album, “Drunk in the Garage: Live & Acoustic-ish,” set to drop next month — is returning to his hometown Saturday for a show at Brooklyn Bowl with Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds. Tickets are $20, and the show’s at 7 p.m.
Reggae in the Desert
Southern Nevada is obviously landlocked, but Saturday at Reggae in the Desert you can pretend it’s not. The bill features Capleton, Don Carlos, Israel Vibration, Fortunate Youth, Junior Marvin and New Kingston. Tickets are $40 in advance, and the show starts at noon at the Clark County Amphitheater.
Del the Funky Homosapien
Not only does he have one of the marvelous monikers in hip-hop, but Del the Funky Homosapien is a mighty masterful MC. On Friday, the rapper brings his riveting rhymes to Las Vegas for a show at Backstage Bar & Billiards with Richie Cunning and Pure Powers. Tickets are $20 to $25, and the show starts at 8 p.m.
We Were Promised Jetpacks
This Scottish band with one heck of a handle is set to play the Bunkhouse Saloon on Thursday. Tickets are $10 to $12, and the show starts at 9 p.m.
Las Vegas Deathfest 8
Metal fan? Head to LVCS for Las Vegas Deathfest 8, which features some of the best underground acts in the country, along with a number of outfits from overseas (including Disavowed from the Netherlands and Darkall Slaves from France, who are making their only stateside appearance). Tickets are $40 per day or $80 for Friday and Saturday.
