14 people freed from elevator on SlotZilla at Fremont Street Experience — PHOTOS

Fourteen people became trapped in an elevator Friday night on the way up to SlotZilla, the zip line at Fremont Street Experience.

The Las Vegas Fire Department assisted SlotZilla maintenance workers starting about 9 p.m. to free the people inside, fire spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

Using an extended rescue ladder in the middle of Fremont Street, the ride’s operator and all 13 guests were assisted safely down to the ground without injury, Szymanski said.

The elevator became stuck between the second and third levels after a mechanical malfunction, Szymanski said.

Elevator calls in Las Vegas are fairly common, Szymanski said, adding that crews typically respond to them at least one a day.
